It's Not All Bad....

So as you know blogger world, I have been traveling to Orlando a lot recently. Usually when I head down there it's mostly Disney business mixed with Orlando pleasure. My former roommate Amanda had the same realization about Orlando I had about Atlanta....if you are going to make this new city your home, explore it and give it a fair chance. So she made an "Orlando Bucket List" and you guys know how I love bucket list. I've got about 4 going right now! Anyhow she shared one thing on her list with me this past weekend and in doing so made me realize I never really gave Otown a fighting chance. As far as I was concerned if it wasn't Disney or DC it wasn't worth it. I say all of this to say....Orlando is not that bad. It's still a tourist trap and it's still a city lacking a definitive identity outside of the theme parks but it's trying to be more. Since Orlando is trying so will I....even though I no longer live there. For Amanda and myself I am going to help her check things off her bucket list and in the meantime get to know the city I once totally shunned. So what did we check off of the list this time? An airboat ride. Now when I think of airboat I think CSI:Miami style Everglades hunting for gators or dead bodies. Turns out I was not that far off. Florida is a land of water you just have to know where to look for it and even as far inland as Orlando there is still a substantial amount for bass fishing tournaments, gator sightings, waterfowl and more. I had a good time at Boggy Creek, learned about the wildlife and topography and even better...gained an appreciation for the Central Florida area. The pictures don't do a good enough job capturing everything we saw but it should wet your appetite blogger world to give Otown a chance. That's all I've got for now...so until next post....laters!
