2013: Thus Far

Here we are in the seventh month of the year and I feel like it's almost over! Well that's because it is. I figured I would take this time and update all my loyal readers (yes the both of you) what's been happening in my day-to-day life. So let's get started.

Well as you know this is been a year of concerts for me. I've had the pleasure of seeing lots of artist for the first time. So far, I've seen Maroon 5, Owl City, Olly Murs, T.I., Lil Wayne, Ke$ha, Pitbull and in a weeks time my ATL baby Ludacris! it has been so fun to be able to spend my money and see artists whose music I truly enjoy. Hopefully I will be able to post some photographs really soon.  One of the benefits of living in Atlanta is its great music scene , which I haven't really had the chance to take advantage of until now. Boy am I making up for lost time.

In recent revelations I decided to start working out a the regular basis. Why? Well realize that I wasn't all that happy with the way I looked any more. I saw a photograph of myself and it wasn't pretty. For about the last 2 months I have been faithfully going to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. I do everything. I run, I use the rowing machine, I lift weights, I use the elliptical, I attend classes at the gym and I make sure that no matter how tired I am, I at least do some type of physical activity for 45 minutes. I must admit I do feel a lot better. I guess it's true what they say, the more you work out the more positive endorphins you have.

On another note I also have been working on taking care of my hair more. On one of my many nights in, I was looking at YouTube channels for ideas on how to style my short natural hair. I realized a lot of the styles could be done but my hair was so unhealthy I wouldn't be able to maintain many of them for very long. So then I decided to take that into my hands too. I do more protective styling, make sure that my hair is always moisturized and am conscious about the types of food that I eat and my diet. All of these things factor in to healthy hair something that I hadn't really thought about before. I want to take this time to shout out my girl Britt because her blog is really the inspiration for wanting to do more with my hair. I wish her many years of healthy long natural hair.

On the relationship note I touched on the fact that Jesse and I had reached the one year milestone. Honestly it's been a great trip. For our anniversary (which I will say I still haven't given him anything but that's another point for another time) he gave me the most thoughtful homemade card that I've ever gotten. I have truly found someone who makes me smile with the little things.

So what's on the agenda for the remaining months of 2013? Well of course more concerts! Also really focusing on bettering myself. 2013 has become a year of being the best Moe that I can be, taking steps that may have scared me before but ultimately are for the best. Here's to an awesome 2013 and it's even more fabulous 2014 until next time laters.

PS. I spotted ATL's own Da Brat at a movie screening recently looking just the same as she did in the early 90's but still proving that black don't crack.
