Things that I love.....or at least trying to

So as you all know I am hard at work trying to stick to the goals I have set for myself in 2015. I am working on trying to refrain from calling them "resolutions" because even though they do require resolve to achieve, many "resolutions" tend to fall by the wayside half way through the year if not half way through the month of January.


Nonetheless here I am yet again checking in and keeping accountable with those goals. For a refresher check out my post from January 6th. Soooo time for a status update:


This came from my kitchen last night and I made it. I ate it and didn't die. I shared it with others, they also did not die. Cooking win!:

As apart of my Georgia exploring goal went on a hike to Arabia Mountain, I was so proud of LJ! He did the entire 5 1/2 mile moderate hike without me having to carry him once. I'm only holding him in this picture because he is so tiny :-)

 Last month my "treat" to myself was tickets to finally see "Newsies" at the Fabulous Fox Theater. What an amazing cast and show. It was so refreshing to see such an athletic show with a 90% male cast. If it's in your town and you love any of the following : Disney, musicals, dancing, fun and/or life I'd buy a ticket.





Another two birds one stone situation aka whenever I can combine goals = double win. This is Whirlyball (google it), I decided that it would be last month's group activity and I also got to spend time with Jim. It was super fun (though a little painful for me because I kept hitting my knees) and I can't wait to do it again! Next month's activity will probably be a brewery tour & tasting somewhere. After all summer drinking season is just around the corner.

My favorite holiday is just around the corner (Valentine's Day) and so I just wanted to share this photo with you all, life is short. Hug/Call someone you love today.

Just gotta be me

So I went home this weekend...I had so much fun...I miss my family so much sometimes, but while I was home I learned something about myself I can't live MY life for my family. Three states, One Girl

No, this is not the beginning of a bad joke. It's actually the beginning of a cool trip. I had a conference in Boston a couple of weeks ago. That was my first time in MA, while there I took the opportunity to check off a couple of additional NE states that I'd never been too. Depending on who you ask NY may or may not be considered NE but in any case previously I'd only been as far north as CT. With this trip I also saw NH & ME. I actually had to look up the abbreviation for Maine because I'd never been and couldn't remember what it was 😅.  Coastal Maine was beautiful. I've obviously been on the east coast waters before but seeing it as a lush green forestscape was another thing entirely. I definitely see why it's the setting of so many Stephen King stories, it's hauntingly beautiful. New Hampshire was a bit more rustic than I expected in the most delightful way.
