Mid Year Progress Report
So it is June, time to do a check up on my goals for 2015.
To refresh your memory here are the goals and their associated updates:
Organize one group activity a month (game night, dinner, sporting event, etc)
This goal has been going very well. Generally I plan the activity for later in the month so that people have time to plan and add it to their calendars. So far my favorite activities have been Whirlyball and Karaoke.
Hang with Jim once a week (even if it's only an invite & he can't do it)
This one has been a bit harder to accomplish mostly due to my work schedule, however he has attended most group activities and is generally available to chill if and when I have free time...I will work more on this goal in the coming months
Read 1 book a month
This is probably my most successful goal thus far. I have actually read 15 books thus far (I read 5 in April alone)
Work out 3 times a week (30 minutes minimum)
This is another goal that has sort of fallen to the wayside due to my work schedule. I need to get back in the habit because my lack of purposeful workouts has also halted my weight loss
Be more fashionable (invest in decent/presentable clothing & find a style model)
Instagram has been my saving grace for style icons. Though I have not picked a specific person per se I have started following several clothing companies that offer plenty of inspiration . In addition to this I have really putting an effort into what I wear and how I am seen when it is in my control since I am actively dating again
Save $100 a month
Yet another goal that is easier type than it has been to fulfill. I was doing well in the beginning but then I had to take care of a few things with my car and then all of a sudden all of the money I had been saving went away in a few days. I will get back to this goal though I think I will lessen the amount to $50. The point is to save money no matter how much it may be.
Take a multi vitamin every day
I have also been slacking on this goal but mostly because I just haven't been to the store to buy the stupid vitamins. As soon as I get my butt to Target to pick up my monthly prescription I will buy them also. If I am not working out as much but still working a ton, I am going to need to keep my health up via the vitamins
Go to the grocery store and cook once a week (possibly combined with Jim related activities)
This goal has all but disappeared from my life due to my work schedule. I average about 70hrs of work each week which doesn't leave much room for two things...sleep and food. I do both of those when I can and if the choice is to cook some food or get 20 minutes more of sleep....SLEEP WINS.
I will try to refocus this goal and see if there is a more doable approach that I may be missing.
Splurge on myself every 3 months (buy tixs to a play or concert, go to a really nice restaurant, spa day etc)
This has not been an issue really except that thus far it hasn't been every three months but rather every month almost. I have adopted the work hard play hard mentality and thus I treat me how I want to be treated, which as it turns out is pretty darn well
Get more involved in the lives of my niece & nephew (details TBD)
Planning a trip home this month for some QT with the kiddos. Also I call them once every couple of weeks just to chat. More details to come but I am still working them out. I just know that I want to be the cool aunt that loves them and they will always remember and want in their lives.
Post 2x a month on Blog (pictures count)
I'm not going to comment on this one...you can view the progress for yourself
So this is where I am on my goals thus far, not all good but not all bad either. I look forward to reinvigorating myself and these goals in the coming months......until next post...laters!
