Adventure is out there: Amsterdam

It's me again! Your friendly neighborhood blogger.

Since I have made a promise to myself to be more active and the like, I figured I'd take this opportunity to post about a recent impromptu trip to Amsterdam.

A couple of years ago, we had an intern at work. We became friends, flash forward and life has brought us to the same side of the pond again albeit her in the Netherlands and me in the UK. Nonetheless we took the opportunity to travel together and explore.

What a beautiful city! We met several new friends and walked and ate and drank our way from one canal to another.

Highlights include:

The Heinekein Brewery
Eating mini pancakes
Eating waffles
Street art all around the city
Canal boat cruise
The Sex Museum
Walking the Red Light District
Going to a coffee shop
Dancing the night away at several bars/clubs

Though it was the most exhausting 48hrs I've had in a long time, every moment was worth it!

I look forward to exploring Amsterdam again but glad I got a taste of it and DAM it was good (see what I did there? hahahaha)

Here are a few pics from the trip:

After spending the night at Birmingham International Airport & hopping on the first flight with KLM
I arrived!! Time to drop my bag off at the hotel and hit the streets.

First stop? Day drinking of course! The tour was really fun and full of lots of little giveaways, beer drinking, good-a (hahaha another joke, get it? Gouda?) cheese and just a sprinkling of history

After touring the Brewery, next was walking the streets of Amsterdam in search of good eats, street art and canal cruises

I think I ate my weight in Stroopwafel and I have no regrets. Now that our bodies had been nourished it was time to enjoy the nightlife. Amsterdam is also known for its "Red Light District" so before going to rage at clubs, bars and coffee shop we took a stroll around the history of the District and some of its more engaging residents

The lights coming from the buildings was beautiful reflected on the canal
One of the most "interesting" museums I've been to in my life

They also like to play on words, hahaha

All in all, I had an AHMAZING time so...when can we do this again?....until next post...laters
