20/20 Vision

ah yes, the time had come to once again by reflective. I said I wasn't going to do this, that I would rather not cave into the trend but as I looked at others I realized...this is more than a new year...it's a NEW Decade!!! I should take time to reflect not only on the past year but also on the past 10. So let's try to do that together shall we?


2009: Graduated from VT and started my Disney Career after some time spent abroad, am I ready for this? 

2010: Made some personal revelations about life & love and what those meant to me, moved to Atlanta, started my career,  lived completely alone for the first time, really felt like an adult making decisions for myself 

2011: Really started exploring my new home, got my first road dog Lord Jaymeson bka LJ, had some friends get married, started working on friendships more

2012: Started traveling domestically more, met J, first (of many) music festival, really started to grow in my career

2013: Promoted!! More live music from concerts to festivals to everything in between, spent more time at Disney, starting to get into craft beer/breweries

2014: Adulting really hard, first serious breakup, dating to fill the void but end up making great friends along the way, grandma & mom both battling cancer, work stress, dealing with anxiety and addressing it again since college, traveling more internationally, so much more music, having my own version of " Eat.Pray.Love", trying to be a good friend but not really knowing how to reciprocate and share my own needs...learning from that. 

2015: First solo international trip! Tattoos..3 more of them, more travel (Disneyland anyone?), missing my grandma, got GA plates for my car, more Disney,  more Doctor Who, more self discovery, more music, more family...More everything

2016: Back together, healthier relationships across the board, new challenges, new adventures, missing my road dog, family trip to Disney, music, new job & promotion, travel & personal/professional growth

2017: Soccer & Weddings, more trips & travels, music & babies, Disney & Weddings, Beaches & Gays, Weddings & Grad School (London/Leicester Calling)

2018: Grad School is hard...being away from family is hard....but also travel galore, relationships takes work, distance is hard, J's first international trip, soccer, new job, back to Atlanta, is this adulting part 4?, it all went by so fast

2019: settling into life as we know it, moving in together (adulting part 93737261!?!?), happy disney anniversary,  grad school graduation/master of the universe, work is challenging in the best kind of way, Dad's cancer fight, more self discovery & managing reactions/expectations, relationships are hard, more family time,  so much music, first camping music Festival, new road dog: Findlai, my babies ain't babies any more, Lots more craft beer, better friendships, better me but constant work in progress 

2020: ?

Just gotta be me

So I went home this weekend...I had so much fun...I miss my family so much sometimes, but while I was home I learned something about myself I can't live MY life for my family. It's time for me to venture out into to the world with the training they have given me and do my own thing...therefore I'm getting a tattoo...this is just a sign of my personal growth and freedom..God forbid my parent trip but like I said this isn't about rebelling it's about doing ME

Three states, One Girl

No, this is not the beginning of a bad joke. It's actually the beginning of a cool trip. I had a conference in Boston a couple of weeks ago. That was my first time in MA, while there I took the opportunity to check off a couple of additional NE states that I'd never been too. Depending on who you ask NY may or may not be considered NE but in any case previously I'd only been as far north as CT. With this trip I also saw NH & ME. I actually had to look up the abbreviation for Maine because I'd never been and couldn't remember what it was 😅.  Coastal Maine was beautiful. I've obviously been on the east coast waters before but seeing it as a lush green forestscape was another thing entirely. I definitely see why it's the setting of so many Stephen King stories, it's hauntingly beautiful. New Hampshire was a bit more rustic than I expected in the most delightful way.
