Atlanta City Football Club
Ugh, thanks I hate it. I'm feeling some type of away about the name for Atlanta's NWSL team. I've been so hyped for this team since it was announced. I've always loved Women's soccer, since the Washington Freedom days. Mia.Fucking.Hamm. I love and support the Washington Spirit. I watch the Orlando Pride play to see Marta continue to lead and defy expectations. Temwa is a joy to watch. I was sooooo hyped. When asked what our thoughts should be for the new team name, of course a version of phoenix made sense but shifted or changed spelling i.e. fenix or feneux so as to not be confused with the American city. If we wanted to go with the bird theme (ala Hawks/Falcons/ Thrashers (rip)) maybe something like Shrike. Atlanta has long been lauded for our treescape, earning the moniker "The City in the Forest", so why not Forest City FC or Grove (though that's not the best...is it the worst)?
